Nowruz (lit. “new day”), the Persian New Year is celebrated worldwide by various ethno-linguistic groups. It has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia.

Sending new year’s cards is a tradition which is less practised today. Every spring I design Nowruz celebration cards and send a limited number of them to people concerned. Each year the card is dedicated to one of the ethnic groups celebrating Nowruz. The cards are also sold on my website just to raise funds in order to keep this project sustainable.

This year’s card inspired by Chamar tradition, is in the memory of the victims of the disaster of November 24 in the Channel, in which 27 migrants died. the worst on record involving migrants trying to cross the Channel to Britain from France. Most of the migrants were Kurds.
